Description
Hi,
I am designing a 4 legged concrete structure for supporting silo. Size of columns is set as 900 mm . To break the length of col. of 11m I am giving Concrete tie beam at somewhere middle of it.The Connection is kept MC. I have the opinion that to have full benefit of the beam , besides a reasonable depth its width should be around 500mm. Please suggest if thats ok or a lesser beam width can do.Seismic zone is 5.
