Hello everyone,
岬elf saurin and i am a pg student (structural engg) at present. I need some reference to study and analysis of outrigger structures and its optimum location. This is required as to complete my seminar sessions which is essential part of this course.
So pls kindly help and hope for an early reply from members Thank you.
Yours sincerely Saurin. |

亲爱的停下来,
Happy to see your interest on advanced topics.
As in our Indian contest the profile of buildings are just begun to reach high ( more than ( 50 stories approx.) so the need for this type of lateral resistant systems (Outrigger belt truss) are not well thought off. Unlike some foreign countries where they have reached more than 100 + stories, is necessary and has been implemented.
As I had some exposure few years back when we were working on a 77 storied building in Gulf, where we had this type of lateral resisting system. As there is no guidelines set or used, its purely based on building configuration, Soil structure interaction, CG & CM of the building, Sequence of construction, loading ( Gravity and lateral) and the location. Mainly one may have to do trial and error basis to arrive at an optimum location.
Some of the experts in this field may predict some possible locations and behavior.

Respected sir, Thanks for your concern towards my post. I agree with your points as this topic is new upto now in india there is no practice in our country.
But i am in my second phase of my presentation hence i have to present analysis of such model having this type of lateral load resisting system(outrigger belt truss). So my querry continues with how i shall do this using any software? . I expect help in that direction.
Thanks once again for putting your words.

We normally take help of Etabs software for the analytical modelling of multistoried high rise buildings for the purpose of analysis and rest can follow.
