Dear Engrs.P. JogiNaidu and V. M. Rajan,
For correct interpretation of STAAD/PRO results this publication from STAAD people is also very useful :Staad Verification Manual withStaad Verification Problems:These examples are taken from known solutions ( Text Book problems) modeled in STAAD and shown to have same results as known exact answers. This 570 page manual has many useful examples and going through them , you will learnhow to do correct computer Model and get reliable answers and do correct Design of Structural Members.
There is a misconception among some engineers that if you input this Command " PERFORM ANALYSIS PRINT STATIC CHECK ", Verification of Results is automatic. This command checks total Reactions FX, FY, FZ with total applied loads in X , Y and Z direction.This is no check on your results.Even for aJUNK ANALYSISyou will get this check as o.k. Do not count on this check. Have this command but we have do more to
" VALIDATE OUR COMPUTER Model and Results".
Copy of STAAD Verification Manual is attached.
