 |
|
Dear All,
I was trying to model an L-column in ETABs through the "section designer" application of ETABS. I have two queries regarding that:
1. How to model the actual condition wherein two perpendicular beams will rest on two orthogonal legs of an L-column (which is the corner column of the building) ?
2. What is the significance of the "insertion point" and how to move the c.g. of the L-section to the insertion point. Please note that in the L-section the since the c.g. lies outside the section I am not able to click on the c.g. and drag it to the insertion point using "reshaper tool".
Also, please explain( if anyone is kind enough to ) the significance of two axes shown in the "section designer" window. One is the XY axis (shown in green) and the other is the 2-3 axis shown in red? Initially both the axes stand together but after I create the L-section the axes separate out, that is, they move away.. _________________ Thank you, Abhishek Singh
