Dear All,
Can anybody suggest a good literature on design of Dome type structures. I have a Thermophilic & mesophilic structures in water treatment plants, wherein height is around 30m from ground with full shear wall system and its around 20m in dia. Pls suggest.

结构20米迪亚和30m high cylindrical tank may not pose any stability problems,
Foundation need to be raft /annular raft,,
Hoop forces are balanced due to circulsr geometry,,
Horizontal forces due to wind /seismic cause global vertical bending of cylinder,,
20 m dome cover will be economical, but thickness of dome must be from considerstion of durability,, maintenance repairs problems and not as per pure theoretical requirements,
May please refer Book by Manning,,
In sewage works,, Sludge digesters are, I think,, to some extent similar structures,, Check for their design criteria |
