Dear Er. Pushkar
Pedestal is usually provided in steel structures. Sometimes a designer may provide a pedestal to decrease the depth of footing, as the cantilever depth of footing may be reduced.

Best wishes

Dear Er.
If in R. C. C. Framed structure, wall constructed first and concreting done after, then this structure will act as composite monolithic constructed structure of R. C. C. & Masonry. Transformed Moment of Inertia of equivalent area of steel, concrete and masonry is too much higher than MI of RCC beam. As per my personal opinion it may not be any adverse effect on structural strength of such monolithic composite structure in which masonry (Brick masonry or Higher strength masonry than brick masonry) constructed first and after some time column and beam concreting carry out. Earthquake resistance may be more of such composite structure. As this is my individual thinking, it is requested to all Experts of this forum to Discuss & give their opinion in this topic and correct me if my thinking is require any improvement.

To understand transformed section below link may be useful to you

In continuation of my previous posting pl.find below detailed drawing for a 2-way slab including the details for torsion as found in the reference noted in the JOG format.

Can any sefians report that he makes and follows this detail for slab against the conventional bent up bars? It takes a bit long time to prepare the details but at construction site it requires less labour and less wastage of bar. Nowadays I am preparing and giving to the clients.

Thank you for your information. It is really helpful. I want to see the photograph of a real site where this system of detailing has been followed. Especially, the torsional reinforcement part. I want to know that if both flexural reinforcement and torsional reinforcement are provided together or the locations where the torsional reinforcement is provided, flexural reinforcement is not provided.
