SUMMARY:框架剪力墙�的行为可以被评估by any standard computer programme under elasticdomain. However it becomes necessary to examine the behavior under nonlinear domain as well in orderto design them suitably for earthquake resistance. To assess the behavior of the dual system�s lateral loadresistance, it is customary to examine their individual behavior and then ensure compatibility by theinteracting forces. This approach does not give the sequence of formation of plastic hinges. In this paperan improved step-wise nonlinear analysis is used to analyze a typical mixed system containing both shearwalls and frames. The example taken is a typical irregular building in order to expose its deficiency withrespect to ductility performance. Rotational ductility demands of the various components of mixed systemare found. The method proposed can be used for incorporating capacity design principles for mixedsystems.

RESIST Software is now available for individual users. A copy of the same can be requested from NICEE on payment of Rs. 2,000/-. This version of RESIST is customized to Indian codes and construction conditions.

However, a more recent update is available with greatly enhanced graphical features but it is based upon New Zealand codes and practices.It may be downloaded free of charge from the New Zealand Society of Earthquake Engineering website at
